5G can create 2.4 million jobs in Europe

A Boston Consulting study commissioned by the European Telecommunications Networks Operators’ Association (ETNO) showcases the role 5G can play in the growth of the European economy.
The report notes that according to research, 5G alone can generate EUR 113 billion an annual GDP impact and 2.4 million new jobs in 2025 in Europe. Boston Consulting analysis shows that EUR 150 billion investment is still needed to achieve a full 5G deployment in Europe.
The study also underlines that 5G will have major environmental and economic benefits and that sectors such as automotive, health services, transport, and public utilities will benefit the most by the 5G investments.
